El Teide

The volcano Teide is the sacred mountain of the indigenous people from Tenerife, the Guanches. Tenerife (from Guanche teni – mountain and ife – snow) is the largest island of the Canary Islands and the Teide is the highest mountain of Spain at 3715m. Teide is a volcano, which was formed 170 000 years ago through an eruption.
